- 6 tart apples (granny smiths work well)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ready made pie crust
Peel and core apples. Mix together sugar and cinnamon. Place apples into pie crust and sprinkle with sugar mixture and butter. Add top crust and cut a slit to ventilate. Bake at 450 degrees for 45 minutes.

Of course pie isn't the only thing I made. Here are a couple of the recipes I used this week. Maybe they'll inspire you to cook some good old-fashioned comfort food this week.
While I was baking, I ran out of baking powder. Before running to the store, I dug through my cupboard and found another can. I'd forgotten all about it and wasn't sure exactly how old it was and if it would still work. Thankfully it's easy to test if your's is still good.
