Last Day For "Early Bird" Pricing
Hello ,

We made it to Germany and are enjoying our time with my family. The flight was long and a bit bumpy but other than being a little sleep deprived, we did ok.

We got to my parents house yesterday afternoon and hang out with my sister and her family for a bit. I went to the hospital for about an hour to see my grandmother. She looked a bit better than I expected but it's still hard to see how much she's aged in the last two years. I'm very happy we have the chance to spent some time with her in the coming days.

In fact we're about to head out to see her this afternoon. But first I wanted to show you the yummy currant cakes my mom made for us today. We had them as a light lunch with a cup of coffee. The pie crust reminds me of angel food cake. They are premade and you can find them in all the grocery stores around here. The red currants are fresh from my grandmother's garden and then there's plenty of fresh whipped cream. It was delicious.

I think I'll make them at home with a slice of angel food cake instead of the "Toertchen" (the little cakes). If you don't have red currents, they are also delicious with raspberries or sliced strawberries. It's a German take on strawberry short cake.

I look forward to sharing more pictures of food, sights and of course the grocery stores around here. Today is a Holiday (Corpus Christi) and all stores are closed, but I'm hoping for a quick trip tomorrow.

Of course there's also still time to order the Kitchen Sink Bundle. It's been a big hit so far and it will stay up until we fly back on July 2nd.

P.S. There's still time to grab the Kitchen Sink bundle.

P.P.S. I'll be back in a day or two with some more pictures. I'll also do my best to update the HBHW Facebook page.
