[HBHW] Christmas, Kindle and Pinterest Oh My ...

Published: Tue, 08/28/12

Hello ,

It's been a busy couple of days since school started. I'm finally able to spend some larger chunks of time in front of the computer and tackle some of the projects that have accumulated over the summer. First and foremost on that list was Pinterest. I can't even begin to tell you how many emails I've been getting about it over the past few months. It's an awesome site and I agree, it's the perfect place to share Hillbilly Housewife recipes. My only problem is that I'm not that great of a photographer, but I've been doing my best to add more pictures (and remember to take them while I'm cooking and tweaking new recipes).

If you'd like to connect, I'm http://pinterest.com/hbhw/ on Pinterest and set up several different boards, including one for HBHW recipes. You may also have noticed that I have a new share section on each page of the HBHW website that makes it easy to share your favorite recipes, tips and articles via various social media sites and email.

And speaking of recipes... there's something else I've been working on over the summer... the first in a series of Kindle recipe books. I've always been an avid reader and got my first kindle a few years ago. I'm a big fan of this little e-reader and love it for reading fiction as well as cookbooks. Needless to say, publishing to the Kindle is something that's near and dear to my heart and it's about to become  reality.

One thing I love about it is that you don't have to own a kindle to read the books published there. You can download an app to your phone, your ipad and even read the books  right on your computer or laptop. My first kindle book will be about making jams and jellies. The content is written and edited, there are just a few more technical things to figure out. I'll have more for you on that in a few days

Last but not least, I realized earlier today how close we are to Christmas already. We have just a little over 100 days to go. I'll talk more about that in tomorrow's newsletter. For now I want to share a great resource with you called 100 Days Until Christmas from Jennifer at List Plan It.
