[HBHW News] Independence Day and Safety Tips For Your Festivities

Published: Wed, 06/27/12

Hello ,

Welcome to another edition of the Hillbilly Housewife Newsletter. Can you believe that we've almost made it through June already? Thinks are definitely heating up down here in the South. The only time we're outside during the middle of the day is when we're submerged in water (like taking a dip in the ocean).

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the floods in Florida and the wild fires in Colorado. Stay safe!

This week's quote is a fun look at Independence Day, but also speaks a bit of truth, too. For the story this week I decided on an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence. It's good to read once a year, just as a little reminder. In this week's featured article I have a few safety reminders as you join in the festivities this 4th of July. With fireworks, water fun, and serving food outside, we have to be watchful. Please take a moment to read and enjoy.

Here's today's edition of the newsletter:

I had a lot of fun putting this together for you and I hope you enjoy it as well. Please take a moment to look through the "I'm Looking for " requests and help a reader out with a recipe if you can. Of course you are always welcome to also share a frugal recipe or tip.

Warm Regards,
Susanne - The Hillbilly Housewife
