Let's Bake

Published: Mon, 04/02/12

Hello ,

Easter is almost here and the end of lent has me dreaming of all sorts of yummy baked goods including cakes, cookies, pies and cobblers. I'm going to be doing quite a bit of baking for this coming weekend including a pie for dessert on Easter Sunday and a little something special for Easter Breakfast. I'm not quite sure yet, what that's going to be, but homemade cinnamon rolls are at the top of the list.

I'm sure you're ready to do some baking as well... and not just for Easter. Baking is a great way to spend quality time with young kids during spring break. And of course there are all sorts of birthdays and other special occasions in the coming weeks and months that call for baked goods. In other words, this is the perfect time to introduce you to the latest HBHW recipe collection - Baking Made Simple:

Of course we don't just bake for special occasions. I make muffins and cookies for lunch boxes and afternoon snacks and of course the bread maker is used at least once a week. Not only is it frugal to do your own baking, it's also healthier since you control all the ingredients.
