[HBHW News] Convenience Foods and Kid-Friendly Veggies

Published: Wed, 04/06/11

Hello ,

Welcome to another edition of the Hillbilly Housewife Newsletter.Thank you so much for all the wonderful emails about the new convenience food ebook. I'm glad you are finding the mixes, tips and recipes in it as helpful as they have been for my family. If you missed my email about it  yesterday, you can learn more about the ebook and get your copy for $10 at

The featured article this week is all about a well-stocked pantry.  We're not talking about a whole bunch of prepackaged goodies;  we're talking about what a cook needs to prepare simple meals without having to run out to the store.  It's amazing just how convenient your meals can be with just a few staples in the pantry at all times.

Every week in our recipe sharing section, we feature a recipe submitted by a reader.  Since we're trying to eliminate prepackaged convenience foods, I thought I'd share a quick side dish recipe that may just save you some money while you eat hearty.

This week's quote will definitely inspire.  The story this week is a poem I've chosen simply because it reminds me of what the emergence of Spring feels like.  I hope you'll enjoy both the quote and story this week.

Here's today's edition of the newsletter:

I had a lot of fun putting this together for you and I hope you enjoy it as well. Please take a moment to look through the "I'm Looking for " requests and help a reader out with a recipe if you can. Of course you are always welcome to also share a frugal recipe or tip.

Warm Regards,
