[HBHW News] 4th of July Celebration and Cool Summer Cooking

Published: Wed, 06/29/11

Hello ,

My visit with my family is coming to an end.  I'm on my way home, and although it will be good to get home, leaving my family again is hard.  But, I'm thankful to have the opportunity to travel.  So, there are a lot of mixed feelings, mostly bittersweet.

This week I am featuring an article about how to stay safe during the 4th of July festivities.  The fun and games during this particular holiday often include things that could pose a danger.  Please be safe this 4th and read the featured article to learn more.

This week's quote and story are about what the 4th of July holiday means;  actually, what it means to celebrate freedom under the flag we here in the United States pledge allegiance to, and the sacrifices we need to remember.  Please read today's quote and story and I hope you have a moment to reflect.

I had a lot of fun putting this together for you and I hope you enjoy it as well. Please take a moment to look through the "I'm Looking for " requests and help a reader out with a recipe if you can. Of course you are always welcome to also share a frugal recipe or tip.

Warm Regards,
