[HBHW News] Drying Herbs and Healthy Food

Published: Wed, 06/22/11

Hello ,

I hope you are enjoying your summer. It's fairly cool and rainy here in Germany but we're still enjoying the visit nevertheless. My grandmother invited me for lunch today and I can't wait to watch her make her famous "Wasserspatzen" a type of noodle like dumpling.

In today's edition, I am featuring an article about drying herbs.  Many of our readers here at HBHW are looking for ways to save money by growing their own herbs when possible, or drying fresh herbs they buy at the farmers' markets.

This week's quote and story are about little slices of summer.  From the foods that make summer special to the complications of planning a summer vacation, I just wanted to cover a variety of the things we're going through right now.

Here's today's edition of the newsletter:

I had a lot of fun putting this together for you and I hope you enjoy it as well. Please take a moment to look through the "I'm Looking for " requests and help a reader out with a recipe if you can. Of course you are always welcome to also share a frugal recipe or tip.

Warm Regards,
Susanne - The Hillbilly Housewife
