[HBHW] This is too cute

Published: Sat, 12/04/10

Hello ,

I love Advent (the four weeks leading up to Christmas). Everything in our house slows down and we spend lost of quality time together making cookies and presents, reading Christmas stories, decking the halls and just enjoying this magical time of the year.

It wasn't always this way. I remember a time when I was frantically running around for weeks to find the perfect presents (usually spending way too much) and being so stressed out about creating the perfect Christmas, I didn't have much time to spend with my daughter and husband.

Thankfully I was finally able to see that spending quality time and making memories with my family was a much better way to spend my time and none of us miss those stressful earlier days. Instead we have some wonderful family holiday traditions and are adding more each year.

Last year for example my 7-year old and I started making salt dough ornaments for us and a few close relatives and friends. We'll be having fun making a second set this weekend.

Speaking of creating memories and cherished holiday traditions, my friend Tracy from MomsInABlog.com has put together a wonderful ebook that's full of holiday ideas.  I just got through reading it this morning (it's a pretty quick read) and have a whole list of ideas for new things to do this holiday season. I can't wait to share them with my family and see which ones we'll start making one of our new holiday traditions. (The Christmas quilt and memory book ideas are at the top of my list ).

The Family Holiday Memories ebook is a bargain at $7 and includes several fun bonuses including a holiday story book with some of my favorite Christmas stories.

Grab a copy, pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea and discover some new Holiday traditions for your family.

Have a wonderful Second Advent weekend,

Warmly,
