[HBHW] Summer Cooking

Published: Mon, 06/14/10

Hello ,

We are in quite a bit of a heatwave here in the south and already hit over 100 F yesterday. When it starts getting that hot, I chance what and how I cook quite a bit. Breakfast is still microwaved oatmeal most days, but lunch is usually a light and cool salad. Dinner is something simple that can either be cooked outside or made in the crockpot.

Since summer cooking is on my mind, I've been adding a few new recipes to the Hillbilly Housewife website over the past few days. They are mostly fruit and vegetable recipes that since there's so much in season right now. You can find them here:

Give a few of them a try and see if you and your family like them as much as we do.

If you'd like some more tips and recipes for summer cooking, get a copy of this short ebook I put together last summer.
